Ordering
Are your clothes made to order or ready to ship?
We offer both made-to-order and ready-to-ship baby and children’s clothing.
- Made-to-order items are handmade especially for you once an order is placed
- Ready-to-ship items are already made and are dispatched within 1–3 working days
Each product listing clearly states whether an item is made to order or ready to ship.
How long do handmade orders take to dispatch?
Our standard turnaround time for made-to-order items is up to 15 working days.
This allows time for:
- Handmade production
- Ordering fabric or materials where required
During busy periods, such as Christmas, turnaround times may be closer to the full 15 working days, but we always aim to dispatch sooner where possible.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Because many of our items are handmade or personalised, changes and cancellations are limited.
- Personalised or custom-made items cannot be changed or cancelled once production has started or materials have been ordered
- If you contact us as soon as possible after placing your order and production has not yet begun, we may be able to cancel or amend your order on a case-by-case basis
Please email us promptly if you have any concerns.
What is considered a personalised item under UK consumer law?
An item is classed as personalised if it has been altered in any way from our standard offering, including:
- Name or wording embroidery
- Font or thread colour choices
- Printed or embroidered designs
- Custom fabric selections
- Custom-made items not usually offered within our collections
Personalised items are non-returnable and non-refundable, unless faulty, in line with UK consumer law.
Do you send embroidery mock-ups before stitching?
This depends on the item ordered:
- Custom embroidered teddies:A design mock-up will always be sent for approval before any stitching begins
- Standard advertised designs (teddies or clothing):A mock-up will not be sent as standard, unless requested in the order notes
- Fonts and thread colour choices on embroidered clothing or blanks:Mock-ups are not provided unless specifically requested at the time of ordering
What sizing do you use for handmade baby and children’s clothes?
All garments are sized to UK children’s sizing, even when professional sewing patterns originate from the USA or Australia.
Where international patterns are used:
- A size conversion chart is included on the product listing
- A general UK / EU / US / AUS sizing guide is also available on our website
We always recommend using body measurements rather than age alone.
Should I size up when buying handmade clothing?
If your child is between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up.
Please note:
- Australian patterns often have slightly more ease than US patterns.
- Fit can vary depending on garment style and fabric used.
Always refer to the size chart provided on the product listing before ordering.
What fabrics are used in your handmade clothing?
We use carefully chosen fabrics suitable for children’s clothing, including:
- Cotton jersey
- French Terry
- Woven cotton
- Some organic jersey fabrics (clearly labelled where used)
If a garment is made using organic fabric, this will always be stated in the product description.
Are your fabrics exclusive or limited edition?
Some designs are exclusive prints created especially for us — these will be clearly identified in the product title and description
Many woven cotton fabrics are purchased in limited quantities, often one or two bolts, to reduce waste
Seasonal fabrics are also produced in small runs
Once a fabric has sold out, it may not be restocked.
Do you use different fabrics seasonally?
In general:
- Jersey fabrics are used for spring and summer designs
- French Terry fabrics are used for autumn and winter designs
As many of our fabrics are printed for us, it may be possible to print certain designs on alternative fabric bases on request. Please contact us if you are looking for a specific combination.
How should I care for handmade children’s clothing?
All garments include care instructions. As a general guide:
- Warm wash, inside out
- Do not tumble dry
- Follow the care label supplied with your item
Correct care helps maintain fabric quality and embroidery over time.
Are your handmade clothes classed as sleepwear?
Our handmade clothing is not sold as sleepwear and has not been tested to nightwear flammability standards.
On occasions where we stock wholesale sleepwear for embroidered personalisation, these items will comply with relevant UK nightwear safety standards and will be clearly identified as such.
What fastenings do you use and are items safe?
We use:
- Plastic KAM snaps
- Nickel-free poppers
Please always supervise children while wearing our items that include poppers and snaps and check fastenings before each wear to ensure nothing has come loose.
